As part of Horizons of Hope, the Education for Sustainability in the Archdiocese of Melbourne Framework highlights the importance of ecology within our Catholic faith tradition. There is a clear and strong mandate form scripture and the papal encyclical, Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home for us to be stewards of God’s creation. But, where do we start on this journey?

This course provides resources and examples of how to embed ecological thinking and practices at a whole school level. It provides a strategic approach to enacting the key messages of Laudato Si, Victorian Curriculum Cross Curriculum Priority of Learning about Sustainability, Education for Sustainability in the Archdiocese of Melbourne and Horizons of Hope along with ways to build capacity and bring colleagues along with you on this journey.

Assessment & Accreditation Criteria

This course has been approved by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) as a Professional Development Program for gaining/maintaining accreditation to teach AND maintaining accreditation to teach RE or Lead in Catholic schools.
